Prom Poetry
The game Prom Poetry is a wholesome, very creative game that could be played at any Prom party. In this activity, each guest could be challenged to compose and recite a poem about that year’s prom experience. They could come up with a lively limerick or a lovely haiku, a classically styled poem or a beat-type poem that contains just a bit of irreverence. Anything goes, providing of course that all work presented is clean, respectful and appropriate. Themes could include the colors and decorations presented at that year’s prom, that year’s prom slogan or theme, dances featured or refreshments served, etc. The host can judge the poetic samples based on their creativity, quality, humor, etc.; prizes awarded could include candies, school supplies, as well as kid-appropriate CDs, DVDs and video games.
