Poker Addition
Teach children how to add by means of the poker style of play. Instead of players trying to win by three- of-a-kind, straight flushes etc. the object of Poker Addition is to get the highest number cards possible. Each player receives five cards and is allowed to draw as many as three cards per hand. The player with the highest total is the winner. Make the game more interesting by including wild cards such as the Joker. If one should receive a joker that automatically adds ten or subtracts ten for the total number of cards. Reverse the game and the player with the lowest total number is the winner. The beauty of this game is that parents can teach children to add, subtract, multiple and even divide numbers while playing a fun game.
