Grandparents Day Scrapbooking
Grandparents Day began with a housewife from West Virginia who wanted to champion the cause of lonely elderly grandparents in nursing homes. She also wanted children to use it as an opportunity for children to gain wisdom from their grandparents. Now every year, Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day. Celebrate this day by creating a fun scrapbook of your grandparents' memories. Ask your grandparents about their lives and then cut out pictures from magazines, collect trinkets, draw pictures, take pictures, and ask for old pictures and small keepsakes like stamps and lockets to add to your scrapbook. This is a fun project and also will serve as a great keepsake for grandchildren.
Grandparents Day should definitely be celebrated with the entire family and many party supplies. Have lots of decorations like flowers and imprinted banners, signs and posters. Engraved candles and center pieces would also do great decorations at this event. Make a variety of dessert and make an imprinted dessert menu for everyone to enjoy.
